Simon was re-elected to the Cambridgeshire County Council division of Sawtry and Stilton in May 2025, having earned a loyal following as a dedicated local champion since first being elected in 2013. With common interests that sometimes overlap, he works closely with district councillors Tim Alban and Marge Beuttell whose ward includes Stilton.
He also remains district councillor for Sawtry, a ward which since boundary changes in September 2023, is part of North West constituency and the Huntingdon Constiuency. In his county council role he is a member of the children and young people committee and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire Authority.
