A very productive and informative meeting this week at Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service HQ. My thanks to (L-R) Area Commander Stuart Smith, ACFO Jon Anderson and Deputy Chief Executive Matthew Warren for their time.
It was a timely opportunity to voice the concerns of residents regarding the current issue of the proposed closure of Kimbolton Community Fire Station ahead of the decision by the Fire Authority and the public meeting later this month.
Also critical to understand the wider operational and financial challenges faced by the service, despite its continued high performance, as well as the future impact of Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service exiting the current Control Room arrangement.
