Angela grew up on a farm in Huntingdonshire where she learnt the importance and value of philanthropy and “helping others’ from her parents: how rewarding and fulfilling it can be to “give something back”.

After a history degree Angela “stumbled” into a job with London Festival Ballet (now English National Ballet) where she learnt about professional fundraising and event management becoming somewhat of a “nerd” on fundraising strategy. She organised many high profile events including The Nutcracker Ball, opening night gala of Natalia Makarova’s Swan Lake with and an event in the Egyptian Sculpture Gallery in The British Museum.

During her time as a professional fundraiser Angela had the privilege of working with some truly and inspiring people such as courageous Battle of Britain pilots on the RAF Benevolent Fund’s 50th Anniversary Appeal. She has worked with many medical charities creating awareness of new treatments and supporting patient welfare (National Meningitis Trust) and environmental charities (Friends of the Earth).

After marriage and the birth of her children Angela continued to fundraise in a voluntary capacity setting up The Crown Appeal in support of Addenbrookes Charitable Trust (ACT), was a member of the Huntingdonshire Macmillan Nurse Appeal as well as supporting the work of Papworth Trust. She is also a Trustee of Rise Africa UK supporting educational projects in Tanzania.

Angela has had a long association with HCCA from representing the Conservative Party in a school election when David Renton was our MP, working closely with Sir Peter Brown and Sir John Major (including the 1997 general election campaign), continuing to help with fundraising with Jonathan Djanogly and now Ben Obese-Jecty MP. She has also held roles at Branch level.

Outside of fundraising Angela’s other great passions are Arsenal Football Club and ABBA and can often be heard singing “Bukayo Saka running down the wing” to Voulez Vous in London N5
