Government sets out radical new agenda in Queen's Speech

Ian Gardener holds Alconbury

Ian Gardener has been elected as the new Huntingdonshire District Councillor for the Alconbury Ward. 

Cllr Gardener, the current County Councillor for the area, secured 56% of the vote and a majority of 890, with turnout topping 77% across the ward. 

Jonathan Djanogly increases majority in Huntingdon

Jonathan Djanogly was re-elected as the MP for Huntingdon after gaining 32,386 votes. 

Mr Djanogly increased his majority by over 5,000 votes, polling 19,383 votes more than the Labour candidate.

With voting to begin at 7am on Thursday, opinion polls say the election is too close to call - the Conservatives need 9 more seats for a majority, but opposition parties only need to make 12 gains to prolong the chaos and uncertainty of a hung parliament.
